Code of Conduct
The Mooloolaba Yacht Club Limited (MYC) strives to set the highest standards of excellence at all times.
Members, guests and visitors participating in activities associated with the Club, must conduct themselves in a respectful manner and must show courtesy, consideration and respect to all others.
The Club endorses the following Code of Conduct for members, particularly where involved with members and visitors under the age of 18 years.
As a Club member you should:
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others.
- Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealings with others.
- Be professional in and accept responsibility for your actions.
- Operate within the rules of the sport including national and international guidelines that govern the sport of sailing.
- Do not use your involvement in the Club to promote your own beliefs, behaviours or practice’s where these are inconsistent with those of the Club
- Demonstrate a high degree of leadership and individual responsibility especially when dealing with persons under 18 years of age.
- Display maturity and demonstrate acceptable social behaviour.
- Refrain from excessive use of alcohol, acting in a way that becomes a public nuisance or creates a public disturbance.
- Refrain from any form of harassment of others.
- Refrain from any behaviour that may bring the Club into disrepute.
- Be mindful of your actions in relation to individual safety and the safety and welfare of all others involved in the Club.
- Be a positive role model.
You are reminded that the purpose of this Code of Conduct is to provide you with an enjoyable and safe environment, where you are able to enjoy being a member of The Mooloolaba Yacht Club Ltd. Remember that MYC is strongly supported by the volunteers who work together to promote a love of sailing and competition sailing in the Mooloolaba precinct. Personal time, expertise and dedication by many members is required to ensure the development and success of the Club.
