Commodore’s Members Update, May 2018
Ahoy MYC Members,
As much as the weather has started to cool off things are really starting to heat up at the Mooloolaba Yacht Club. We are particularly excited about the new balcony overlooking the Mooloolah River and how it will add to the already perfect place to enjoy a sundowner after a long day on the water.
We are excited to send our best and warm wishes to the Sunreef Women’s Team representing the MYC at the Australian Women’s Keel Boat Regatta June 9-11 hosted by Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron. The girls have been training tirelessly and are ready to do their best – GO GIRLS!
Whilst the girls are in Melbourne, we will have our hands full back at Mooloolaba with 40+ Etchells visiting for the 22nd year. We have a star studded entry list and Nic Douglass “Adventures of a Sailor Girl” joining us to deliver all the news and hot goss as it happens.
Want to be apart of it? Don’t forget to register as a volunteer either online or by calling the club, there are all sorts of ways you can be involved at this great event, on and off the water. Whether you have plenty of time to give, or just a little, it is all appreciated and vital for an event like this to be successful, so please get in touch.
We have a busy few months ahead with end of season festivities, Youth program and of course Etchells Australasian Championships. As such, we are really looking for individuals that are willing to give back, if you are interested please contact any of the board members or simply email the club to express your interest.
Sailing Season 2018/19 memberships are now open for all shapes and sizes get in by June 30 to take advantage of the discounts, new members are also welcome sign up now and think of it as 6 weeks free.
