Commodore’s Members Update, Sept 2018
I would like to thank the members of their support in electing myself to the role to serve as Commodore for this year and welcome the new board made up of enthusiastic members at our recent AGM.
Josh Close stays on in the role as Vice Commodore.
Suzanne Mabbott in the role as Sailing Administrator and Australian Sailing Delegate.
Mark Coghlan taking on the role as Rear Commodore of Sailing.
Mike Hodgson looking after Youth and Women’s Sailing.
Verena Lambert – Pfifferling as Club Administrator.
Graham Eaton as Equipment, Social and Executive Member
Sarah Johnson representative for Youth and Women’s Sailing, and Executive Member.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank to the outgoing board for a job well done and a special thankyou to Josh Close and Suzanne Mabbott for their efforts during the last year with the club moving to its permanent location overlooking the Mooloolah river with our own private deck and bar with lift access.
I will have our Rear Commodore of Sailing give a briefing on this season’s sailing program after the season opening.
I encourage all members to come along and enjoy our new permanent location. Open 5 afternoons a week.
This year starts off with our season opening to be held in the club room from 11.00am followed by a sail past before a short fun sail.
Then back to the club room at 1500 for presentation of prize winners, along with some tall tales.
The club will put on nibbles and a cash bar (we now have Eftpos)
We are proposing to have a free practice afternoon on the Elliot’s in preparation for the up and coming WES AIR Rum Runners series.
Date and times to be announced most likely Friday afternoon 21st September from 3.30 till dark.
