James Hodgson and his team have finished equal seventh in the Warren Jones International Youth Regatta in Perth after another strong race day today

Day 4 update – the race committee decided to move straight into Semi Finals, so unfortunately the boys won’t get the chance to compete in Quarter Finals and have finished their regatta.

It has been a fantastic week, a great learning experience, brilliant performance from a crew sailing together for the first time, a new, bigger boat for James to steer and lots of great memories.

Highlights include two  wins against Will Dargaville current World Youth Match Racing champion, two wins against Lachy Gilmour from the famous Gilmour clan, one win against Matt Jerwood who has a world ranking of 8 and is on World Match Racing Tour team.

There were also many very tight races and close losses to some of the best match racers in the world.

Thanks to MYC for support of James and our Youth Program and a huge thanks to the crew who stepped up to enable James to compete at such a high level in this regatta – Sam Ellis and Tom Grimes from CYCA and Conor James Nicholas and Lachy Gilham from SoPYC. Great teamwork guys!!

We are very proud of your efforts and results!

We will get an update from James tomorrow. He and the boys are out having a well deserved night on the town in Perth.
