MYC 7th in Sailing Champions League Asia Final

MYC team leader, Commodore Tanya Kelly, reports on the MYC’s participation in the Sailing Champions League Asia Final held over last weekend at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club.

Her crew were Eamon Kriz, Lorri Tyrell and Jordan Spencer.

Ten teams from around Australia competed in the three-day stadium-racing event.

“We had a great weekend.

“It was a very fancy fleet – Outteridge, Stranksy, Babbage, Needham. A very fancy one design fleet with minimal margin for error.

“We are very happy with our results. A couple of first, lots of seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths!

“We were in it, but not consistent. But when we put it all together we could do very well.

“It was awesome to have MYC amongst the clubs. There were two Queensland clubs – RQYS 6th, MYC 7th.

“Definitely something we should continue to be involved with.”
