Melbourne entries
The Covid shutdown in Melbourne has thrown a spanner in the works for four boats heading up this way, but hopefully they will get the green light to enter Queensland late next week. For these sailors, if they can’t make it at the last minute due to the border shutdown, we are very happy to refund the entry fee; so keep on heading up here, and we look forward to showing you some great Queensland sunshine.
Function Update
Due to the large fleet we have modified our hospitality plans – all functions will be run upstairs at The Wharf Mooloolaba in a function area nearby to the MYC clubroom. With great drink prices this should be a good place to hang out and swap stories after racing.
The function schedule is –
- Wednesday at 6pm – Welcome party
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6pm – post-race party and issuing of the leader’s bibs each night for both championships.
Note – There will be no sailor’s dinner on Saturday night at the Surf Club (as originally planned).
The Mooloolaba Wharf has even more eateries now, and we can guarantee you won’t go hungry!
Crane
Saturday June 5 – for the early birds the old Etchells crane will be available. Once you launch your boat, leave the area and park in the trailer park (next door) so as not to hinder other boats from launching.
Wednesday June 9 – the 90-ton crane will be working from 1-5pm so make sure you have everything together to launch by this time.
If get here early, park your Etchells near the Coastguard (on the western side of the trailer park). But, once you launch your boat, move the trailers to the eastern top-end of the car park for the weekend and be very mindful of other users of the facilities.
You will be parking at your own risk and the MYC takes no responsibility for your boats or trailers as this is a public area.
Lift outs
No boats are to be lifted out of the water on Wednesday other than for an emergency on either crane.
