Invitation to Arthur and Val Hodge farewell

The MYC are losing two of our club stalwarts, Val and Arthur Hodge.  They are off to Melbourne to rejoin their family after spending the better part of their retirement years here in Queensland.

We want to celebrate the contribution of Val and Arthur and warmly farewell them as they embark on their next adventure, so please join us at the MYC on June 26 at 1630 for drinks and a hearty sailors celebration.

Since the mid-80’s Arthur and Val have been involved in the club. He has been an invaluable member of the club’s start boat team for regular club events through to world championships. He has also been a very active sailing member racing his beautiful yacht Crackajack every Wednesday afternoon for as long as I can remember.

It’s not that long ago the club recognised Arthur’s contribution by awarding him Life Membership and proudly naming the MYC’s current rescue boat ‘Arthur Hodge’.
