Child Protection – Information for Members

From 01 July 2021 the legal requirements for volunteer clubs, like MYC, to adhere to more specific and possibly increased obligations towards Child Protection and Code of Conduct, came into force. Consequently, MYC has updated and enhanced the current Child Protection Policy as stood in the By-Laws of the MYC Constitution. Please carefully review the new document to which all MYC members must adhere.

Please note that a Queensland Blue Card is required for any members, volunteers, contractors or employees who may be involved in the activities or supervision of persons under 18 years.

MYC strongly encourages anyone who may be involved in any of these sailing activities to apply for a Blue Card as soon as possible because you may not be involved in these activities until you have actually received your Blue Card. Application online is very easy. The Blue Card is free to persons affiliated to MYC so please contact Suzanne Mabbott on 0413 227 013 to arrange your MYC club affiliation for your application.
