Commodore’s Letter to Members

  • 26/09/2017
Dear Members

It is a pleasure as Commodore of Mooloolaba Yacht Club to announce the following news.It was brought to the table at the 2015/16 AGM that we actively seek a suitable venue as a permanent home for Mooloolaba Yacht Club.

During this time there has been a entire range of discussions and options available for us to engage in.

Through working closely with Evans Long we have managed to secure a lease at The Wharf for a space that is overlooking the water, directly above our current Clubhouse.

The new Clubhouse is for the members to use and enjoy, including a reception area, bar, kitchenette, space for meetings, special events, youth training and most importantly one of the best vistas available on the waterfront at Mooloolaba.

We have a lot of work ahead of us not only to move from our current location, but ensure we have systems and personnel in place to manage the day to day operations.

We are calling on a team of volunteers to assist Gary Schulz in the relocation to our new premises – at 9am on Saturday. Please call or text Gary to let him know you can help out for a an hour or two – 0488 077011.

Secondly we are seeking volunteers to assist with the running of a bar, reception area and sailing program. As it is only through the generous support of our volunteers we enable ourselves to operate.

If there is any way that you can be of assistance please don’t hesitate to contact any of the Mooloolaba Yacht Club board members to express your interest.

It is our intention to have started the move by Tuesday 3rd of October.

Please join me in welcoming this as a exciting milestone for our club.
