Great result in Brisbane Women’s Keelboat Cup
The Club’s women’s representative sailing team had a great time at the recent Brisbane Women’s Keelboat Cup held at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.
Our team skippered by Club Commodore Tanya Kelly and crewed by Kristie Hatch, Kerri Smith, Margaret Scott, Ann Porter, Lauren Clemett, Jazmine Mudie and Tamra McFarlane competed on “Jester”, a J105 kindly loaned to us for the event by RQYS member Tony Love.
Saturday was a Long Passage Race in blustery conditions. Only 5 boats finished with Jester coming away with 1st place on IRC.
Sunday consisted of 4 ‘around the cans’ races which saw 13 boats lined up for the start in champagne sailing conditions.
We finished the weekend in 2nd place on IRC taking away two trophies, a swag of medals and various other prizes.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Tony Love once again for his generosity and continuing support.
Great event Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron – well done and see you again next year!
