BOB ROBERTSON, THE self-proclaimed “Sir Robbo of Queensland”, as well as being one of the state’s best offshore campaigners, builds production yachts and had recently launched a fine new design by the young Seaflyer design team David Lyons and Tony Laubraux, the Robertson 950.

Sir Robbo is not one of your quiet achievers. After a race he soon lets everyone know forcefully of his triumphs and even his disasters.

The first yacht out of the moulds has been called Corrobboree, with the emphasis on the “robbo”.

With the design notes is supplied a dictionary definition of corrobboree: “n. 1. Aboriginal assembly of sacred, festive or warlike characters. 2. Any large or noisy gathering. 3. A disturbance; an uproar.”

3, I think, best fits Sir Robbo.
