Hi All!

Yet another event hosted by the Mooloolaba Yacht Club.  The interclub between the Sunshine Coast’s sailing clubs consisting of Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club, Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club, Maroochy Sailing Club and Mooloolaba Yacht Club was well supported with close results all round. Final hero’s were Lake Cootharaba in 1st place with two teams from Maroochy filling 2nd and 3rd places.  Our Mooloolaba yacht teams performed well under the conditions with one MYC team being protested against and disqualified. The wind was very light with racing finally getting underway around the midday mark so the races were shortened and limited to the bare minimum.

The overall consensus on the day was that even though the racing was limited, all the teams enjoyed the day and are looking forward to another regatta soon. As we all know, sailing in a 3knot breeze is usually more difficult than a steady 10 knot breeze with gates opening and closing, massive wind shifts and less control of the boat with tide influences .All the teams have been told of the Super Saturday race on the 6th August so make a date to be at the MYC on this Saturday.

Well done again Mooloolaba Yacht Club. Keep an eye on the up coming sailing program as there will be a few changes after a very informative skippers meeting where the views of everyone was well received.

Cheers Stevo
