Hi Again.

Exciting things happening at the MYC.

Firstly, sad to see the Wednesdays’ fleet sail abandoned due to bar conditions with low tide at 4:02pm. I’m sure we will bounce back after we settle down into this year. It has been a hectic start as we know.

This weekend , or should I say, today, is the start of the 2nd SAIL GP in Sydney. See attached pic.  Australia won the series last year so are defending their championship. These boats were witnessed last year by a group of MYC members and they are nothing short of brilliant to watch. Your club will be live screening the race at 14.30 today so come on down and see the action while Rum Runners is on.

Long time club stalwart, Bob,’ Robbo’, Robertson has his Bavaria Match 45 cruiser / racer back and is putting a Mooloolaba Yacht Club Crew together for the Brisbane 2 Gladstone, the Airlie Beach Race Week and the Hamilton Island Race Week. If you are a keen sailor and willing to have a go, then let us know for this maybe once in a lifetime experience. Certainly ticks all the boxes and Robbo is not only a great sailor but helps the crew as well. There will also be deliveries from Gladstone to Airlie and Hamilton to Mooloolaba as well.

If this is on your ‘things to do’ or ‘bucket list’ then DO IT.!!!

Cheers Stevo
