Stevo’s Blog, July 1
Hi All.
Been a bit busy as of late with last weekend’s ‘She Sails Mooloolaba Women’s Winter Regatta fleet racing competition with 8 teams competing from afar as Newcastle to Mooloolaba and in between. The main outcome of the weekend was that from what I can understand from talking to the competitors is that everyone had a great time, great venue, and will be returning.
Lets hope the October National Women’s Match Races Championship will be driven by the enthusiastic crew and volunteers. It was pleasing to see the help and advice given to all the competitors from the more experiences sailors. Sara headed our youth team from the Mooloolaba Yacht Club and took out the overall first place with the crew headed by Stacey Jackson, a credible second on countback.
The MYC was awash with gear bags and necessities for the competitors and resembled a dinghy sailing club in full action. The members and guests that viewed the action from the verandah were not disappointed with fierce starts and very competitive sailing over the course.
Keep your eyes for notices for sailing and meetings that are coming up shortly.
Lots of memberships processed recently and new members.
Looking good MYC.
