Stevo’s Blog, March 9th
Hi again, (a little late- but better late than never)
The weekend saw some rain and due to a shallow low tide at the river mouth, the ladies race was postponed on Sunday March 8th.
Ever considered what happens behind the scenes at Your Mooloolaba Yacht Club that keeps it ticking over? Did you think last week was quiet? Behind the scenes a few very busy (sometimes overwhelmed) volunteer members have generously given of their time to organize the following:
- Rum Runners organised and run.
- An MYC volunteer required oversee a function on Saturday night.
- Advertising being sought and negotiations proceeding for the Womens and Youth sailing.
- NOR and organising being carried out for the Winter Etchells Regatta.
- Sailing committee communicating regarding the Hart Cup (May 2nd).
- WAMS and SAMS organization.
- Negotiations carrying out for an upcoming MYC Match Racing Championship in late April early May.
- The RIB being towed down to Caloundra for a motor service.
- Plus the administration- daily emails, accounts, questions and answers.
- Womens Sailing Skills Development Program training and advanced sailing group organized and run.
- Social media, web posts and updates.
- Every time the bar is open, somebody is running it.
- The Elliotts’ traveller stops installed (and there is still more maintenance to do)
- Ordering for the bar and unpacking the orders.
- Banking and postage.
- And the MYC club room cleaned.
Are you in there somewhere? Thank you to our many wonderful volunteers. If you have a special skill or some spare time please let us know- as you can see there is always plenty to do and many hands make light work.
Cheers Stevo
