Hello again !!
Busy weekend last. Friday night saw the Mooloolaba Game Fishing Club hold a tournament with some 18 boats competing. Busy night in the MYC clubroom. While the game fishing briefing was held, 7 yachts began their race from Southport at 17.00 hrs to Mooloolaba. 4 yachts finished and three of the yachts were started for the return passage race to Southport on the Sunday morning.
Results were; Another Painkiller 1st, Blunderbuss 2nd and Wildflower 3rd.
While the Southport Yachts enjoyed the hospitality of the MYC.
Wynnum Manly conducted the Hart Cup 13 yachts competing. Of the 13 boats, 9 finished what ended up being a very hard days sailing with wind ranging from nil for hours to 20knts at times.
Results were; Blew Bayou 1st MYC, Ragtime 2nd RQ and Tanu 3rd MYC.
Due to the testing conditions and time spent, Sundays’ race, the Brian and Trent Anstee Memorial race was postponed until the 2nd of June, so put that down in your calendars to support this worthy event. More on this race in the next blog.
Royal Queensland held their Commodores Cup from Mooloolaba to Manly on Monday.
