Stevo’s Blog, November 20

Hi all.

Been a while but a bit going on. Firstly one boat has left the MYC but another one is coming in. Should be good competition for the monohulls !!  The Multihulls were due here on the weekend of the 9th but was cancelled due to the strong wind warnings from the north at some 30 knts. Then the south at 25 knts. Totally understand the cancellation.

A lot has been said about the work being done and the volunteers required to carry on the functioning of your MYC. Gary and I are putting together a roster of volunteers with RSA’s to help out in the bar area due to the heavy bookings for functions leading up to the Christmas period. So, if you can help then please register with the office on your availability.  These functions are vital for the stability of the club as membership fees only cover administration, insurances, outgoings and 2 months rent. And that’s with some 200 members !!  Programmes are  Ocean sailing, schools, youth, women and the social rum runners.  So there is a bit going on!!. Remember, that if you have an event be it whatever, a party, regatta, function even a gathering, please clean up after your activity.

Ok down to the social side,   Events coming up. Apart from the current bookings that have every Saturday and most Fridays booked until Xmas.

29th November. A social evening with a difference. MYC have engaged the band Los Gringos to play at the MYC. The band plays surf music and southern Texas / Mexican.  interesting EH ??

8th  December. The great MYC TINNEY Rally. Look on line for details but a great family fun event.  After Tinney Rally presentations and the MYC  Christmas Party. This day will be FUN.!!

Stay tuned as the Mooloolaba Yacht Club is busy.  Stevo
