Today we hear from MYC member and skipper of the maxi yacht Bumblebee 4, Graham Scooter Eaton.

Scooter is putting together the final details of his team’s Hamilton Island Race Week which is being held from August 15 to 22.

The Frers 79, more widely known in Australia as Ragamuffin during the many years it was owned and campaigned by Syd Fischer, is joining the significantly smaller cruising division for the 37^th annual regatta, Australia’s largest gathering of yachts of all sizes in one magnificent location.

As you may notice, I have referred to the yacht with it’s old name as many years ago I worked for Syd Fischer and even helmed the beast around Sydney Harbour in a Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Lady Skipper’s race.

In this podcast Scooter tells us about the challenges of putting this year’s campaign together, some of the history of this well-known yacht and for those of you who haven’t heard the story as yet, where his nickname came from.
