Tune into episode 9 of Ahoy!

Today we hear from MYC youth sailor Frazer Brew.

He’s a quiet achiever, climbing the Laser class ranks through the 4.7s to the Radial class and along the way successfully competing in national and World Championship youth competitions.

Finally, Frazer has reached the Laser Standard class.

He’s tall enough, but while many of us are struggling to lose Corona-kilos, Frazer is on a mission to gain sufficient weight to make him competitive in the class.

On the land he has the support of the experts at the Queensland Academy of Sport and on the water, he is working hard with coach Ash Brunning out of Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.

Frazer has the skills and razer-sharp focus to join the Australian Sailing’s Laser squad and to aspire to some fairly hefty sailing goals.

But, firstly, the 18-year-old has Higher School Certificate exams to complete in the coming weeks.

Frazer talks about his sailing and education ambitions and the challenges that lay ahead for this articulate, intelligent and seriously talented young man.
